The Cape Hatteras Scarf

This scarf I made as a Christmas present for two of my friends, one in bright red, the other in a sparkly white! I'll post pictures as soon as I can, my camera cable decided to stay at home while I'm in Richmond for two weeks... =) Here is the pattern for this lovely simple scarf:

Supplies:

Size US 7 needles (or whatever size the yarn you're using calls for!)

Any worsted weight yarn would work for this pattern – I used Lion Brand Wool Ease. If using that brand, you will need two skeins.

Cast on 26 st.

There is a 4-row ribbing at the beginning and end of the scarf:

Row 1 – K2, P2

Row 2 – K on K, P on P

Row 3 – K2, P2

Row 4 – K on K, P on P

Start pattern:

R1 – K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1

R2 – P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1

R3 – K1tbl, P1, 3/3 LC, K1tbl, P1, 3/3 LC, K1tbl, P1, 3/3 LC, K1tbl, P1

R4 – P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1

R5 – K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1

R6 – P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1

R7 – K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1, K6, K1tbl, P1

R8 – P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1, P6, P1, K1

Repeat R1-R8 of pattern, until scarf is as long as you like, making sure you end with a R4 or R6.

Then, repeat the 4-row ribbing from the beginning of the scarf.   Weave in ends.

 Abbreviation Explanations:

K1tbl – Knit 1 through the back loop.  When knitting this st, instead of putting the needle through the front of the loop, put it through the back.

3/3 LC – This is a 6 st left cross cable – when you get to the 3/3 LC, sl 3 sts to the cable needle, hold in front.  K3, then K3 from the cable needle.

The Bella Mittens

Currently on the needles are the Bella Mittens! Geeky, yes, I know.  They are the mittens that Bella wore in the movie Twilight in the parking lot scene.  They're very cute! The original pattern calls for a dark charcoal grey, but I'm knitting mine in a magenta color! You can find the pattern here!  Super thanks to Marielle Henault for writing this amazing pattern!
I know it's a small picture, but when I'm finished with my pair I'll post the final picture!

Welcome =)
